Final Digital Portfolio Semester 2

Project 10: Stop Motion

In this project, were were to create a 20 sec to 2 min long stop motion animation video about anything we choose, except that it had to include a story with a beginning, middle, and end. I created a story of a bear who always got himself into trouble, and his friends always have to help him get out of trouble. I used objects around my house like small stuffed toys, a glass of water, white poster board, etc., to create my video.

Project 9: Utopia/Dystopia Video

This project required us to shoot 3-5 second clips that implied either a utopian or dystopian Portland. Using the definitions of a dystopia and utopia, we had to shoot people, plants, objects, buildings, etc sing different camera angles to explore more unique and creative ways to film. We then edited our clips in iMovie to form a 30 second video each for a utopia and dystopia.

Utopia Video

In this utopia video, I wanted to make Portland feel very sunny and carefree. I filmed really bright subjects to show happiness and a "perfect world".

Dystopia Video

In this dystopia video, we wanted Portland to feel very post-apocalyptic with cloudy skies and dreariness. We filmed old buildings and graffiti in order to achieve this scene.

Magazine Pages

My partner, Claire, and I worked on a magazine on the lifestyle and people surrounding Portland. We made total of 16 pages with spreads featuring food, environment, and the people in primarily Downtown Portland.

Project 8

Fine Art Portraits:

Niki1
Niki2
These are my fine art portraits. I love how her facial expression and the editing of the photos express a certain mood of melancholy and even maybe dejection.

Commercial Portraits:

PaigeTennis
This commercial portrait is of Paige. She is holding a tennis racquet her facial expression is joyful. If this was a magazine cover, she might be advertising the tennis racquet and saying that if you buy the racquet you will be happy just like she is. I love how genuine her smile is and how it creates such an inviting cover to the magazine.
NikiNature
My other commercial portrait is one of Nikita causally walking in nature. I think this would be a fabulous magazine cover because it has room to accommodate the title and text. It also displays her clothing/fashion and the Portland nature she is walking in

Project 8 Prework

Fine art portraits:

Dmitry Ageev
I love this portrait because the lighting, editing, and composition really show the emotion in her eyes. There is a distinct mood in this photo because of how she is posing and how the photographer shot the model. I also really love her freckles.

Michael Magin
I also really like this portrait because of the shadows and how the light falls on the model's face. Because it is in black and white, there is so much emotion in this portrait. the profile of the model is also really beautiful and captivating.

Magazine covers:

I love this magazine cover because of the model's posing and props involved. I live how simple yet telling the cover is and it really drew my attention to it because of, ironically, its lack of color. It also is trying to sell the Louis Vuitton shawl to us.

This is a TIME Magazine cover of Steve Jobs. I love how it is so simple by just showing his face, yet has so much emotion it it. I feel like the photographer was trying to capture his personality in this cover and made it simple yet deep and meaningful.
